welcoming new people to io

we have great pleasure in announcing the opening of our office in Abu Dhabi and in welcoming a number of new people to io.

Mike Nevin joins us as a partner responsible for the Middle East based in our recently established office in Abu Dhabi. Mike has over 20 years oil & gas industry experience and has had various previous roles in world leading engineering and consulting companies  where he was responsible for delivery of many concept select and master planning studies. For the last seven years Mike took the lead role in building the Genesis Consultancy Business in Abu Dhabi.  Mike says “I am excited to be joining io oil & gas consulting at this early stage in its growth. Io’s mission to bring much needed certainty to the planning stages of oil and gas projects with an approach founded on decision quality, innovation and creativity is disruptive and just what our industry needs right now; I look forward to helping our clients unlock the potential in their assets in this lower for longer oil price environment”.

Rafael Morales joins us as a Principal Consultant and Study Manager based in our Houston office. Rafael brings more than 34 years’ experience in the upstream sector, including onshore and offshore facilities/subsea/pipeline engineering, project management and operational roles and is an expert in heavy oil developments. Rafael says “I truly believe the io way will help clients identify projects that will work at the much lower break even prices our industry needs; I am particularly impressed with the io approach of “starting with the end” and I look forward to this new stage in my career working with the io Americas partner Ed Hernandez as we focus our near term growth plan for io in the Americas on Mexico, Brazil and the wider Latin America”.

Michelle Wellsbury joins us as a Study Manager and will be based in the Shard, our London HQ. Michelle has 24 years’ experience in Concept Selection Studies working on projects in Brazil, Middle East, Africa and the Caspian region; more recently she has been involved in a number of life of field extension projects and has focused on all aspects of produced water management. Just prior to joining io Michelle was nominated for and won the award for “Best Woman Oil & Gas Engineer for the 2017 Women in Construction & Engineering (WICE) Awards”; so we are particularly happy that Michelle has decided to join us here at io at this exciting time in her career. Michelle says “I am very happy to be joining io oil & gas consulting and will be taking the lead in our efforts to bring higher decision quality to all of the work we do and the recommendations we make”.
